About SexInMalta
A practical guide to the adult and nightlife scene across Malta and Gozo, written by someone who lives here — and built specifically to correct what visiting guides get wrong.
What this site is for
SexInMalta exists because the English-language guides to this subject were, and mostly still are, unreliable. They recycle material from the mid-2010s. They send readers to a red-light district in Gżira that redevelopment ended years ago. They describe Malta's LGBTQ+ legal position as it stood before marriage equality in 2017. They quote a single stale HIV figure as if it were current, list events that were cancelled indefinitely, and in one widely-copied case refer to Maltese women as living in Vienna.
Our purpose is narrower and more useful than "ultimate guide": tell you what is actually here, what is not here, what it costs, what the law says, and where the risk genuinely sits. That means we spend as much space on the categories Malta does not have — no legal brothels, no gay sauna, no public swingers' club, no KTV, no short-time hotels — as on the ones it does. A guide that pads empty categories to look comprehensive is wasting your time.
We cover the licensed and legal parts of the scene in detail: the gentlemen's clubs of Paceville with addresses and prices, the licensed massage sector, the sex shops, the nightlife, the LGBTQ+ circuit in Valletta, dating and apps. We deliberately do not publish escort listings or claims about which massage businesses offer extra services — see our editorial policy for why.

SexInMalta is reader-supported and may earn commission from some links. No venue, operator, promoter, hotel or app has ever paid to appear on this site, and none can. Commercial relationships do not influence which places we recommend, how we rank them, or what we say about them. Where we think something is poor value, we say so.
What we will not do
No escort listings
Verification is impossible from outside, ads routinely misrepresent who arrives, and an unregulated market with no screening is one where coercion and trafficking cannot be ruled out. We will not be the referral layer for that.
No "which parlour" claims
We do not publish claims about which massage businesses offer extra services. The information is unreliable, it changes constantly, and misidentifying a legitimate business causes real harm to people doing legitimate work.
No paid placement
Not for venues, not for hotels, not for dating apps. Nobody buys a position on this site, and no ranking here is sponsored.

SexInMalta is an independent publication covering the Maltese Islands. It is not affiliated with any venue, operator, tourism body or government agency in Malta, and it does not represent any of the businesses it names.
Everything here is general information for adults, not legal, medical or safety advice. Maltese law changes, venues close, and prices move — we date every page so you can judge how stale it is, and we would rather flag uncertainty than paper over it.
