Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do not, and how to reach us about your data. Last updated 26 July 2026.

Who we are

SexInMalta is an independent publication covering the adult and nightlife scene in Malta. For data protection purposes, enquiries should go to hello@sexinmalta.com. Malta is in the European Union, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies to this site and to you as a reader.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you, by design. This site has no user accounts, no login, no newsletter sign-up and no comment system, so there is no database of readers to hold. We do not ask for your name, email or any personal detail in order to read anything here.

If you email us, we hold that email and your address for as long as needed to deal with it, and no longer. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list, and we do not sell or share correspondence.

Server logs. Like any website, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and to keep the site working, not to build a profile of you.

Cookies and analytics

We keep this deliberately minimal. This site does not set advertising or profiling cookies of its own. Where we use aggregate analytics to understand which guides are read, it is configured not to identify individual readers. Some pages load fonts and icons from third-party providers, which may set technical cookies — you can block all cookies in your browser and this site will still work normally.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning a third party can tell that a visit came from here and may set its own cookie. That third party's privacy policy governs what happens after you leave. As stated in our editorial policy, no commercial relationship affects what we recommend.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority — in Malta, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner. Because we hold almost nothing, most requests are answered quickly. Write to hello@sexinmalta.com.

A note on discretion

Given the subject matter of this site, we take the view that the least data collected is the best outcome for readers. That is why there is no account system and nothing to sign up for. If you are reading this on a shared device, use a private browsing window — that is the most effective privacy step available to you, and it is not something we can do on your behalf.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the page rather than made silently.

About the author

Luke Busuttil

Editor and Lead Writer · Gżira, Malta

Luke grew up in Birkirkara and spent six years working bars, doors and floors across Paceville and St Julian's before writing full-time. He covers Malta's nightlife, adult scene and dating — and corrects what visiting guides get wrong about it. Eight years watching one district from behind the bar, rather than across a long weekend.
